Short tides so OK at low. Keep saying I want to do waves so bought Triwave
95l. Would have previously used 76l but time to try new board so
95l/4.7m.
Very well powered or overpowered so quite a test, loads of wind, chop and
no waves. Triwave turns so easy, rides chop surprisingly well, small fins
lost grip easily though easy to recover and got better at holding line
after quite a while. Holds grip in gybes and smooth. Mast track close to
front foot so started towards front of box then moved back. Considering
board is 61.5cm wide it did not bounce as much as I expected and 76l 55ck
wide was better, but not that much.
When sea got bouncier I changed to 76l, partly as a comparison. Easier
through chop and GPS says about a knot quicker.
Triwave planed quite in lulls and felt like should be OK with 4.7m lightly
powered in waves, if I ever get there. Not sure fins big enough or maybe I
need to develop technique.
Enjoyable day trying gear out, 76l/4.2m would have been fine most of time
so really pleased Triwave handled it and felt like would be good in lighter
winds. John also out and we both got tired in strong winds. I gave up as
wind climbed even more. Just about 5*
